A relatively high-toned and attractively spicy nose is composed primarily of various red berry fruit scents together with hints of underbrush and earth. There is plenty of vibrancy to the medium-bodied middle weight flavors that possess both good detail and a lovely minerality that continues onto the sappy and seductively textured finale that delivers excellent persistence. This is very much a creature of its vintage, which is to say a lighter wine relative to virtually all of the other vintages of the decade with the exception of the 2004. While this should certainly reward a few more years of bottle age, it would not be complete infanticide to open a bottle now. Tasted on mutliple occasions with consistent notes save for one bottle that displayed noticeable brett.
