This trades elegance for complexity as the broad-ranging nose offers up aromas of both red and dark berries with more obvious earth and humus influences. There is good concentration to the more sleekly muscular flavors that stop just short of being robust on the slightly dry finish that again serves to ever-so-mildly detract from the overall sense of harmony.

Palish medium red. Aromas of maraschino cherry, redcurrant, spices and underbrush are joined by lower-toned leather and earth. Juicy, spicy red berry flavors are quite closed, even dry-edged, with the finish showing more saline character than primary fruits. This will need time to expand in bottle but it's tough going today.
