Vinous - Score: 90-92 (2019 Jan.)

The 2017 Saint-Aubin Les Frionnes 1er Cru comes from vines planted as far back as 1935. It has a captivating mineral driven bouquet with touches of sea spray and oyster shell joining the malic fruit. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and focused with a delicate but quite persistent finish that leaves a saline residue. This is very promising.
