Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 95 (2011 January)

The floral character that many of the Leroy '08s display is even more prominent here, indeed I would say that it is perhaps the most floral suffused wine in the entire range. There is ample spice influence as well to the cool and restrained dark berry fruit aromas that slide gracefully into surprisingly supple flavors that possess more than ample mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a powerful and overtly muscular yet not really robust finish where an attractive mineral streak becomes evident. Interestingly, while this remains clearly a Richebourg on the finish, the mid-palate is almost more RSV in texture and mouth feel though this impression may very well change with bottle age.
