While the color is lightening at the rim there is no bricking. The expressive and beautifully elegant nose of spice, dried flowers, earth and sandalwood retains a lovely sense of freshness. This freshness and vibrancy can also be found on the intense, delineated and mineral-driven middle weight plus flavors that terminate in a highly complex and strikingly persistent finish. While there is still some firmness to the supporting tannins this feels as though it has just arrived at its peak though it should be capable of holding at this level for many more years to come. Tasted on multiple occasions in the past few years with largely consistent results though I have come across a few examples with curiously advanced colors and aromas that are almost certainly due to less than pristine storage; in addition I have experienced one bottle that evidenced noticeable brett.
