Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 91-93 (2017 Apr.)

More moderate though hardly discreet wood surround the liqueur-like aromas of red raspberry, lilac, warm earth and soft floral scents. The voluminous middle weight flavors possess a pliant, round and relatively seductive mid-palate that contrasts considerably with the powerful, dusty and notably firm finish that delivers outstanding persistence. This won't win any awards for refinement but it is impressively constituted and thus patience recommended.

Vinous - Score: 89-91 (2017 Jan.)

(made from purchased wine): Moderately saturated medium red. Complex scents of cherry, clove and minerals. Slightly medicinal but fine-grained and nicely concentrated; ripe acidity and good vinosity give this wine insinuating flavor intensity. Not at all overly extracted.
