Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 90 (2018 Apr.)

There is a whiff of reduction that is enough to push the underlying fruit to the background but not the floral and earth nuances, both of which can also be found on the vibrant, well-detailed and tautly muscular flavors that culminate in a saline, youthfully austere and moderately firm finale.

Vinous - Score: 91 (2019 Oct.)

The 2016 Pommard Clos des Poutures 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet with brambly red berry fruit, briary and light sous-bois aromas, classic in style and very well focused. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly raw tannin, hints of tomato vine lacing the red fruit with a straightforward and conservative finish. Probably not a long-term Pommard. Evidence of some whole bunch addition. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting. (DIAM 5 closure)
