Wine Critics Notes:
Allen Meadows - Score: 91(2015 Jan.)
Almost invisible wood is present on the expressive and ultra-fresh nose that is composed by notes of spice, pomegranate and dark currants. There is lovely intensity to the textured and vibrant middle weight flavors that terminate in a linear and mildly austere finish that delivers very fine depth and length. Even though this is clearly built-to-age over the medium-term it should also be approachable after only 5 to 6 years of bottle age.
Vinous - Score: 90+(2016 Mar.)
Bright, deep red. Very dark aromas of inky black cherry, blackberry and violet. Juicy, pure and nicely delineated, conveying strong energy to the dark berry flavors. Still a bit youthfully unforthcoming but texturally fine-grained, not hard. A bit inky throughout. Finishes firmly tannic but not dry. Crystalline and long but this wine will need patience.
