Allen Meadows - Score: 88-91 (2018 Jan.)

A much more floral-infused nose offers up a variety of agreeably fresh aromas of both red and dark currant cut with an abundance of earth and underbrush wisps. The moderately robust and solidly powerful medium weight flavors deliver fine length on the rustic finale that is shaped by an evident and firm tannic spine. This won't win any awards for refinement but I like the forthright character. Some patience required.
