Allen Meadows - Score: 88-91 (2020 Jan.)

An admirably subtle application of wood sets off the cool, pure and pretty essence of plum, dark raspberry and elegant floral nuances. There is a bit more volume and richness to the delicious and attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a distinctly bitter pit fruit-inflected finish that is somewhat bracing. I don't mind a touch of pit fruit bitterness but here it's not subtle and may be enough to bother some.
