Vinous - Score: 94(43556)
The 2010 Malartic-Lagravière comprises a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. It has a composed and confident bouquet with blackberry, briary, slate and cedar scents that are wonderfully detailed, though the aromatics remain quite backward. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannin, pure blackberry and bilberry notes infused with cedar, allspice and black pepper. There is great depth and poise to this 2010 and it deserves another couple of years because it is a great wine in the making. Tasted at the vertical tasting at Malartic-Lagravière.
