I hadn't opened a bottle of this since 2003 and there is still a touch of wood framing the overtly spicy aromas that in a transition phase between primary and secondary fruit. There is a velvety mouth feel to the moderately powerful flavors that enjoy good if not truly special density before culminating in a sappy and firm but not austere finale. This has arrived at a point where it could easily be enjoyed now or held for another 5 to 7 years first as this has only just arrived at the front edge of its peak drinkability. Tasted twice in 2017 with consistent notes.
