Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 89-91 (2016 Jan.)

Here too there is enough wood to notice on the notably ripe nose that displays notes of dark berry fruit, underbrush, humus and once again that Gevrey sauvage character. The mouth feel of the medium-bodied flavors is really quite supple yet the saline and lightly mineral-inflected finish tightens up enough to suggest that this should benefit from 6 to 8 years of cellaring. Worth checking out.

Vinous - Score: 89 (2017 Mar.)

(30% new oak): Bright, moderately saturated dark red. Purer on the nose than the Côte de Nuits-Villages, offering aromas of dark cherry, licorice and spices. Juicy and intense in the mouth, showing a darker fruit character than the Côte de Nuits-Villages, as well as a note of bitter chocolate. The serious, chewy finish features ripe, dusty tannins and good saline persistence.
