The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Fontenys 1er Cru has a superb bouquet: beautifully defined and very pure, featuring a gorgeous rose petal note. The medium-bodied palate delivers supple tannins, fine acidity and a sorbet-fresh, persistent finish. Alongside the Cazetiers, this would be my pick from Charles Van Canneyt. Recommended.
