This lovely effort is still relatively primary with its perfumed, ultra-spicy and floral nose that reflects additional aromas of black cherry, rose petal, violet and sandalwood. There is excellent volume to the sappy and opulent medium weight flavors that are not super concentrated but there is clearly plenty of dry extract buffering the moderately firm tannic spine on the strikingly persistent finale that is shaped by bright, but importantly, not drying acidity. While this could be enjoyed now, it remains sufficiently tightly wound to benefit from another 6 to 8 years of aging.
