The 2015 d'Issan, which was bottled in May 2017, has a potent bouquet with a mixture of black cherries, cedar and subtle estuarine aromas that were in evidence from barrel. This is a bouquet that is determined to make a statement. The palate is medium-bodied with quite grippy tannin, nicely structured à la Brane-Cantenac with veins of pencil lead towards the finish. This is simply an outstanding d'Issan...perhaps the best to date? Tasted in Bordeaux at a private dinner.
