A very slight touch of wood frames the ultra-elegant essence of red berry fruit, anise, spice and wet stone traces. The seductively textured middle weight flavors possess a silky, even delicate mouth feel as the tannins are extremely fine-grained yet the mouth coating finish tightens up quickly on the first and mineral-inflected finish. A classic Charmes that should benefit from being cellared the better part of a decade.
