Spice, earth and mocha nuances suffuse the baked black berry fruit aromas. Once again there is exceptional richness to the big-bodied and powerful flavors that exude evident minerality on the very firm, serious and austere finish that delivers excellent length. Like the Chapelle, this lacks a bit of vibrancy at present and it isn't classic, but the natural coolness of Chambertin helps.
