A notably ripe nose offers notes of Asian-style spices, black pinot fruit and cherry that are trimmed in discreet though not invisible wood. There is excellent volume to the opulent middle weight flavors that tighten up immediately on the robust, powerful, intense and moderately austere finish. Patience will be required.
