Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 88-91 (2012 Jan.)

A discreet touch of wood sets off a somber but fresh nose of airy and cool red pinot fruit that is liberally cut with warm earth and a hint of the sauvage. There is good volume to the robust and tautly muscled medium-bodied flavors that are also very firmly structured yet the tannins are ripe and there is no youthful astringency. This is very Pommard in style but at the same time, it's not unduly rustic.
