Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 90 (2016 Jun.)

This has turned out better than I originally foresaw and in particular because it has managed to successfully integrate the relatively generous wood it displayed from barrel to better allow the ever-so-slightly exotic aromas of pear, dried apricot, spiced tea and soft lemon zest nuances to be appreciated. The sappy and attractively textured medium-bodied flavors possess solid volume before terminating in a balanced, delicious and lingering finish. Note that this should be approachable after only a year or two of bottle age if desired.

Vinous - Score: 92 (2016 Mar.)

Bright straw-yellow. Reticent nose hints at menthol and white pepper. Then juicy and concentrated in the mouth, offering terrific verve and silky weight to the flavors of pineapple, grapefruit and white bread. The wine's insidious sweetness is perfectly buffered by strong acidity and a low pH. Very backward compared to the 2014 version, but wonderfully juicy and long.
