Allen Meadows - Score: 92 (2014 Sep.)

When I originally tasted this from bottle in early 2011 I was concerned that the sliglht finishing dryness might be an issue as the wine aged but it turns out that my fears were unfounded as this has rounded into shape very nicely. A still primary nose reflects the same reserved notes of crushed herbs, earth, dried flowers where a touch of the sauvage adds interest to the fresh and cool red pinot fruit aromas. There is good power to the concentrated and serious medium-bodied flavors that possess a textured mouth feel and find complexity on the well-balanced and lingering finish. This is still quite youthful and at this point I would advise leaving it in the cellar for at least another4 to 6 years and it wouldn't surprise me if it even could use a few more as this beauty is evolving very slowly.
