Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 88-91 (2019 Jan.)

This is a bit more floral in character with its mix of red currant, cherry and soft wood nuances. There is more volume and punch to the attractively textured flavors that can't match the precision but offer notably better depth and persistence where a touch of austerity arises.

Vinous - Score: 88-90 (2019 Jan.)

The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Village, which had not been racked, has a lifted black plum and red currant bouquet with just a touch of hoisin . The palate is medium-bodied with a strict, linear opening and a fine bead of acidity, but it feels clammed shut toward the finish at the moment. Give it a couple of years once in bottle.
