Like the Echézeaux there is a background trace of reduction though again it's not so intrusive to materially detract from the notably ripe but equally restrained aromas of black cherry, rose petal, cassis and a wide range of spice elements. Also like the Ech this is a big, muscular and concentrated effort with excellent size, weight and punch to the broad-shouldered flavors that culminate in a palate coating, serious and strikingly long finish. This is even more firmly structured and at least moderate patience will be necessary. Once again, my rating offers the benefit the doubt that the reduction will disperse after a few years of bottle age.
