Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 89-92 (2016 Jan.)

This also markedly floral with its cool array of wild red berries, earth and sandalwood nuances. There is impressive density and more evident minerality to the delicious and intense middle weight flavors that coat the mouth with dry extract before culminating in a notably more refined and focused if mildly austere finale. Patience.

Vinous - Score: 89+ (2017 Mar.)

Good full red. Blackberry, licorice, pepper and wild herbs on the nose. Juicy flavors of wild berries, minerals and licorice are a bit folded in on themselves today and not showing the sweetness or pliancy of the 2015 version. The wine's brisk acidity currently clashes with its tannins, giving the finish a slight dryness. Still, the tannins are less brutal and more melted into the wine's fruit than in previous vintages.
