Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 92 (2016 Jan.)

A more deeply pitched nose is comprised of plum, earth, sandalwood, spice and plenty of sauvage character. There is fine volume and intensity to the delicious medium weight flavors that exude plenty of minerality onto the firm and muscular finish where the wood suggested by the nose resurfaces. This structured effort is very Lavaut in style and should age well as the balance is solid.

Vinous - Score: 91+ (2016 Mar.)

Saturated dark red with ruby highlights. Medicinal black cherry and licorice on the nose. A step up in density and sweetness from the village and 1er Cru bottlings. Distinctly chewier wine with savory red fruit flavors lifted by a mineral component. Finishes with serious, tactile tannins that reach the front teeth. Classic 2013 in style, with solid mid-palate material to support its firm spine. Leaves the taste buds humming.
