Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 93 (2018 Jan.)

This is perhaps the most floral-inflected wine in the range with its exceptionally pretty nose that reflects notes of lavender, lilac, rose and violet along with earthy and fresh red currant aromas that are trimmed in subtle but not invisible wood influence. This is also quite generously proportioned with fine mid-palate concentration to the medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the powerful and well-balanced finish. This very firmly structured effort is going to require extended cellaring to arrive its full apogee yet it's not so backward that it couldn't be enjoyed after 5-ish years of cellaring. In a word, excellent.

Vinous - Score: 90 (2018 Nov.)

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin "Capita" 1er Cru has a very pure, well-defined bouquet of kirsch, raspberry and pastilles and nicely integrated new oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, good substance, well-judged acidity and a sprinkle of spice over the red fruit on the nicely structured finish. Very fine. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
