Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 94 (2019 Jun.)

In the same fashion as the BBM, this initially plays on the edge of reduction but with air hints of exotic fruit, wood, petrol and a whiff of acacia blossom slowly emerge. Once again, like the BBM the flavors are not particularly dense but they do offer an absolutely beguiling texture that is at once sleek but refined, all wrapped in a clean, dry and sneaky long finish that really fans out like a peacock's tail as it sits on the palate. While there is a touch of warmth here as well, the overall impression is more harmonious.

Vinous - Score: 91-94 (2018 Sep.)

(these vines suffered less from the frost than the Bienvenues): Riper aromas of stone fruits and clove suggest a fuller wine than the Bienvenues. Very rich but dry, with its sappy peach and orchard fruit flavors displaying excellent breadth. There's a seductive umami texture in the middle but the finish is still a bit disjointed. This wine will require patience.
