(50% new oak; 80% vendange entier): Deep, bright red. Reduced, wild aromas of black raspberry, licorice and game. In a large-scaled, sweet, rather powerful style, with plenty of salty extract to buffer its strong acidity. The wine's volume belies the fact that grape sugars at harvest were just below 12 degrees. Big tannins build with air. This will need time in the cellar to assume its adult shape.
