Allen Meadows - Score: 91-93 (2020 January)

The airy and overtly spicy nose reflects an abundance of floral influences on the red and dark currant aromas. The mid-palate of the big-bodied flavors is surprisingly supple, even succulent, though this impression contrasts with the firm, serious and robust finish where the tannins are again slightly raspy and mildly drying. As is the case with several wines in the range, my projected rating accords the benefit of the doubt this will eventually harmonize.
