Allen Meadows - Score: 94 (2016 October)

I hadn't tried this in a number of years but it continues to hold in reasonably well with its wonderfully complex and perfumed nose of brown sugar, caramel, spice, leather and rose petal. The still powerful, very rich and muscular flavors possess first-rate depth on the velvet-textured and superbly long finish. While the '64 Riche can't match the refinement and elegance of its '66 and the '62 counterparts, it remains a lovely wine whose only fault is perhaps a touch of clunkiness. I would further observe that I have had very good luck with this wine over the years with most bottles meriting from 92 to 94 points.
