Wine Critics Notes:

Wine Advocate - Score: 89 (Dec. 2011)

An impressive project of Jonathan Maltus (proprietor of Chateau Teyssier, Le Dome and other chateaux in St.-Emilion), this blend of 85% Merlot and the rest Cabernet France is a sleeper of the vintage. Priced realistically, the wine displays an opaque ruby/purple color and beautiful cassis fruit intermixed with kirsch, licorice and a hint of underbrush. It is dense, medium to full-bodied, very silky-textured, mouth-filling and enormously satisfying. This sleeper is best drunk over the next several years.

Vinous - Score: 87 (Jul. 2012)

Good dark red. Pure, slightly medicinal aromas of cherry and licorice, with good floral lift. Moderately sweet and juicy, with good energy and early sex appeal to is dark berry, dark chocolate and herbal flavors. Turns slightly tart with air, and the building tannins become a tad dry, but this youthfully medicinal wine offers good intensity and balance. This is another Jonathan Maltus project, and the vines lie just outside the Saint-Emilion appellation.
