Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 93 (2018 Nov.)

Medium golden color with greenish highlights. The natural exoticism of the '92 vintage is present on the fully mature and slightly honeyed nose that flashes an interesting hint of baked bread. The highly seductive and lightly stony flavors possess solid density and a lovely mouth feel before culminating in a sneaky long and beautifully well-balanced finale. This is very '92 in style but no less interesting for it and unlike many '92s today, a wine that should continue to hold. Lovely stuff.

Vinous - Score: 93 (2018 Jul.)

The 1992 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru offers scents of dried honey and white truffle on the nose, a touch of grilled walnut and beeswax developing with time. The palate is very well balanced with a slight bitter edge on the entry, but you can forgive that because it is very well focused and certainly refined. I like the tension and energy here as it becomes spicier towards the finish with wild fennel and lemongrass. Maybe it does not have the charm or personality of the 1989 Genevrières, yet there is no denying that this has aged very well. Tasted at Carré des Feuillants restaurant in Paris.
