Wine Critics Notes:

Allen Meadows - Score: 89 (2003 October)

A bottle tasted one year after the bottle reviewed in Issue 9 was fresher and more complex with more of everything including depth, weight and complexity. While it is not a great example of the vineyard, it still is the best bottle I have yet had and while it is approachable now, it will likely improve slightly with additional cellar time. The review in Issue 9 was: Sweet, relatively simple, forward fruit cut with hints of earth and secondary aromas lead to medium weight, round, straightforward flavors of no great distinction. Pleasant rather than special and approachable now. Note: this bottle was substantially better than a bottle I had in 2000, offering much better freshness and depth. 87/now
