This is perhaps the most youthful wine in the entire tasting and certainly one that belies its 40 years of age with a powerful and very masculine nose of game, smoke, intense Gevrey earth, underbrush and simply gorgeous spice notes that complement perfectly the concentrated and still muscular flavors that remain entirely serious with noticeable structure on the hugely long finish. While this could certainly be enjoyed now, it has at least 20 years of life left in it and 30 is definitely not out of the question. A great Chambertin.
